Community
First settled around the turn of the century by adventurers from eastern Canada, England and Europe all looking for a fresh start in an unsettled frontier. With the arrival of the CNR in 1905 came the establishment of a community. The community grew and in 1941 incorporated as the Village of Benito. {See History} Recreation & Culture contribute to the "Quality of Life" enjoyed by local residents as well as by visitors. The Business district contains a variety of retail shops and services to meet most of your daily needs. Our K-S1 school provides excellent educational opportunities for our young people. Thunderhill Courts is our senior's housing complex and the Benito Health Centre provides excellent care for our elderly. Prepared for any emergency is our well trained, hard aorking fire department and first response team. Economic activity in the area continues to be dominated by the agriculture and logging industries, however, there is still room for growth and new businesses are always welcome in our community. The Village of Benito has residential and commerial properties for a sale. These lots are located in various areas of the Village, and many are serviced with water & sewer and natural gas service.
